Practical website work
Website progress reports that separate work from results
A useful report answers two questions: what work happened, and what evidence shows a customer outcome?
Visibility Lab editorial · Published · AI-assisted preparation; product statements checked against recorded implementation.
Keep the work ledger honest
A prepared title, a saved CMS field and a publicly verified change are different states. VL's saved-work view excludes restored changes from the fixed total. A finding that disappears from an unreadable page is not automatically resolved. Comparisons need matching page addresses and reading methods.
Read search data in context
Clicks and impressions come from connected Search Console observations, not an estimate of total demand. Missing data is unknown, not zero traffic. Changes in seasonality, page coverage or reporting periods can affect a comparison. A rise after an edit does not by itself establish that VL caused it.
Close the reporting period properly
A final monthly report should reflect a completed period and retain the evidence saved at the time. October cannot be called final while October is still open. Google data can require a separate settling window. Live outcome and archive acceptance remain part of VL's ongoing product verification.
