Practical website work

Website audits you can act on

An audit should help you choose what to do next. It should not leave you with a long list of unexplained scores.

Start with the page that matters

Choose the page a potential customer uses to understand or enquire about your service. Check its address, visible service explanation and route to contact. A missing description on an unused page may be less urgent than a confusing enquiry page. VL gives evidence for findings; you still need the business context to decide what a useful outcome looks like.

Know what was actually read

The free check reads delivered HTML. A page that fills its content with JavaScript may need a separate rendered check. If a request fails or little content can be read, that is an evidence gap. It is not proof the page has no issues. Saved observations include their reading method so unlike checks are not quietly compared.

Move from finding to verified work

Review the exact page and suggested change. Supported connected WordPress metadata can be saved with permission, then checked separately in the CMS and public output. A saved draft is not a published fix. A verified fix is not proof of higher rankings or more enquiries; those need later measurements.
