The VL blog

Improve an existing page or publish a new article?

A page should help a reader make a decision, rather than exist to satisfy a publishing quota.

Find the existing answer

Search your website for the relevant guide or service explanation. Improving that page may give readers an easier route than another article repeating the material. Add useful contextual links when a strong answer is buried.

Create a distinct destination

A comparison, setup guide and service offer can need different pages because they answer different questions. Give each original explanations, relevant examples and the right next action. Changing only a town or product name across otherwise identical pages adds little value.

Wait for missing evidence

If the facts or intended reader are unclear, gather the inputs before publication. Do not invent demand, volumes or customer questions to justify a new URL. Maintain an inventory showing which page answers which decision so updates and future content are easier to manage.
